Our Shelter in Puerto Rico has experienced an unprecedented number of abandoned animals this Summer.

Over the past two months alone, El Faro has seen more than 11 litters totaling over 50 animals abandoned outside their gates. The majority of these litters came without their mom, which has left their team with the massive effort of bottle-feeding puppies and kittens around the clock.

Their shelter capacity is 100 animals, and they are currently housing over 150.

With the influx of abandoned animals came the influx of vet care - throughout just June and July, the animals at El Faro have needed $25,000 worth of vet care. They received a 17-page vet bill that they find themselves struggling to pay.

As costs continue to rise and donations slow during this uncertain economic time, the future of El Faro has become unclear. This puts nearly 150 animal lives at risk, as well as the livelihoods of 8 selfless staff members that rely on the income. Can you help?
