learn more about fostering & volunteering with alr
We rely on our volunteers!
Here are just a few examples of the things we are looking for our volunteers to help us accomplish:
Become an Adoption Counselor
Arrange Airport/Event Transportation
Manage Fundraising
Participate in Pack Walks
Manage Dogs at Adoption Events
Socialize and Walk our Puppies
Our work depends on the volunteers that follow our satos throughout their entire ALR journey: from picking them up at the airport, to meeting them on “intake nights” for walking and socializing. And from fostering to managing adoption events to taking on the incredible responsibility of finding them homes as adoption counselors. We are a volunteer-run organization, and we couldn’t do it without them!
give a Sato or Gato a temporary home!
Fostering a dog or cat for ALR means:
You welcome a new friend into your home to walk, play, and love them! They become a temporary member of the family.
Foster parents work with ALR in making sure the dog or cat is available for meet-and-greets with potential adopters so that we can find their ‘furever’ home.
There is no financial responsibility for fostering. ALR provides everything you will need – food, crate, toys, litter box, etc.
All ALR animals are fully vetted beforehand - they are up to date on their vaccines and are already spayed/neutered.
Already have a pet at home? That’s okay! Most fosters do very well living in a multi-pet household. We can make sure it is a match for your pet!
